The Swanky Pup was started in 2007 by sister-in-laws Allie Thomas and Jen Thomas. Both business-savvy dog lovers, Allie and Jen knew they had a great idea and felt confident that they would be great partners. Allie, a dog-trainer in Philadelphia and long-time shelter volunteer, noticed the need for the site when clients and friends consistently asked her for advice on dog products and services. Allie’s intimate knowledge of the dog world, combined with her sense of style (and retail days working at Nordstrom!) make her the perfect person to find the coolest products for your pup.
Jen’s experience in marketing and writing combined with her love of dogs (especially her puggle, Maggie) made her a perfect partner for the site. As a writer and board moderator for Mommies with Style , a site focused on finding the best products and services for moms and their kids, Jen has gained tremendous experience in the online blogging/chatting world. Together, Allie and Jen hope to help dog-lovers all over the world come together to discuss and shop the best, most stylish and innovative dog-products and services available. Meet our Writers: If you would like to get in touch with any of our writers, please contact us and we will forward on your message to the appropriate person.
| JEN Founder and Senior Writer
Jen is mom to two beautiful boys, Jacob and Jonah, a puggle, Maggie, and kitty Belle (or more affectionately known as Bellycat). Between taking care of the kids and house, managing her two businesses (as a wedding planner and stationer and The Swanky Pup), hanging with friends, constantly playing online, and writing for Mommies with Style, Jen is always on the go. Jen's love of animals and dogs started at birth with her brittany spaniel, Muffin. Her next dog was Sugar, a golden retriever. After owning a large dog, Jen never could imagine having any other kind of dog. Until she met Maggie. It was love at first sight and an instant connection. Maggie is the most loyal, sweet, adorable, gentle dog and is for sure man's (or in this case, woman's) best friend!

Daniella lives in Philadelphia with her husband and her wire fox terrorist, Axel G Chocholoza. Daniella grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. At age eight she begged her father for a Maltese poodle puppy, but her dad insisted on getting a wire fox terrier, a breed he had loved since his childhood. After pouting for a week, Daniella acquiesced and Georgie came into their lives. For fifteen glorious years, Georgie entertained, loved and brought boundless joy to their lives, and Daniella was forever grateful to her dad for introducing this unique breed into her life. After completing her law degree, Daniella decided to leave South Africa to travel abroad and ended up living in Jerusalem, Israel for 7 years. Throughout that time, Daniella longed for foxie, but it wasn't until she left Israel and settled in Philadelphia, that Axel came into their lives. Dory and Mack share their living space with Mackie's human dad, Tim, also known as Mack Daddy. Ana Hartman is a freelance writer living in Philadelphia with her boyfriend and their two dogs, Ruby and Pearl. Both canines are rescued Pit Bull mixes, and are utterly gorgeous. Ruby, the first addition to the household, is believed to be half cow, as her unique brown and white markings are quite similar to that of our farmyard friends. Pearl, the younger of the two, earned her name for being not only precious but entirely white. Although both dogs love each other very much, they couldn’t be more opposite. On a regular trip to the dog park Ruby is focused entirely on the ball she races after at record-breaking speeds. Social little Pearl, on the other hand, wants to meet, greet and play with all of the other dogs and their people. Ana and her boyfriend are so happy to have these two wonderful new personalities in their lives, and can no longer imagine what life was like without them. | | | | | | | MARIE Writer
